Space-Based Sensing at the Tactical Edge
Toyon Research Corporation, is awarded a $1,249,994 contract for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II in support of the United States Airforce.
Abstract: “Toyon proposes development of a cloud-based software prototype that processes commercial satellite imagery and other data sources to provide persistent tracking of surface vehicles anywhere in the world. An existing cloud-based software prototype for satellite image processing in the visual spectrum will be leveraged and extended. Synthetic aperture radar imagery and other commercially and publicly available sensor data and tracking tips will be integrated to track targets on land and at sea. Graphical user interfaces will be developed to enable users on mobile devices at the tactical edge in addition to users in analysis centers and command centers. Toyon’s past work demonstrating feasibility of the SBIR topic requirements will be leveraged in developing the complete software prototype in this direct-to-Phase II project.
This contract was competitively procured via USAF topic AF221-D020 “Space-Based Sensing at the Tactical Edge”. Work is scheduled for completion December 2024.
